When should you report a fault?
We encourage you to report faults to your local council as soon as you notice them so we can respond quickly.
You should report:
Water supply issues
- no water or low pressure
- discoloured water
- unusual taste or odour
- leaks (outside your property).
Wastewater issues
- wastewater overflows
- sewage smells.
Damage to infrastructure
- broken or leaking hydrants
- damaged pipes or assets
Immediate danger
If there is an immediate risk to people or property, call 111 first.
Examples include:
- road hazards caused by water damage
- major pipe bursts or infrastructure failure.
What information will you need to provide?
Providing clear details helps response teams act faster and resolve the issue more efficiently.
When reporting a fault to your local council, please try to include:
- location: street address or a landmark
- description of the issue: what’s happening?
- when it started: or when you first noticed the problem
- photos: if it is safe to take them
- your contact details: in case they need to get back in touch.
