Point of supply
Ownership of water and wastewater pipes passes from us to you at the point of supply.
We are responsible for maintaining our pipes and other assets on our side of the point of supply. You are responsible for maintaining all private plumbing on your side of the point of supply.
Where is the point of supply on the water network?
If you have a water meter, the point of supply is where it connects to your pipes.
For properties without a water meter, the point of supply is at the gate valve. See the illustration below.

Where is the point of supply on the wastewater network?
Sometimes our public wastewater pipe is inside a property boundary. If this is the case at your property, the point of supply is the joint connecting your pipe to our pipe or manhole.
If our public wastewater pipe sits outside the property boundary, the point of supply is where your pipe crosses the boundary. See the illustration below.
